The Lancaster House Agreement 40 years on

A busy scene with lots of people milling around, Methodist Bishop Abel Muzorewa and British Foreign Secretary Peter Carington are sat and are in the process of signing pact. A man is lent between them picking up the pact.

On 21 December 1979 an agreement ended the illegal white-dominated regime that ruled Rhodesia since 1965, and ushered in the newly independent state of Zimbabwe.
